In this course you will learn how to provide appropriate, inclusive support to people who identify as gay, bisexual and transgender. The importance of acknowledging the individual's lifestyle is also discussed. 

Learning Outcomes:

After completing this course, participants should be able to:

  • Outline who may identify as a member of the LGBT community
  • Explore the challenges that may be faced by older members of the LGBT community who require care and support in residential and home care settings
  • Discuss strategies to improve the inclusivity of care and how to create supportive and inclusive services

This course is perfect for all staff involved in caring for people in residential and home care services.
