Basic Life Support
Course Description:
First Aiders can provide Basic Life Support to people with life threatening illnesses or injuries to maintain their airway, breathing or circulation until they can receive full medical care. This course explores how to provide Basic Life Supports and the theory behind the practice.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing this course, participants should be able to:

Describe the steps involved in basic life support procedures, including:
- Initial assessment
- Airway maintenance and breathing
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, also known as CPR
- Responding to a person whose airway is blocked or obstructed
