Course Description:
Recognise the importance of good hydration and nutrition for older people and identify approaches to encourage healthy eating and drinking.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing this course, participants should be able to:
- Explain what is adequate nutrition and hydration for the older person & why it is so important.
- Discuss why the older person may become malnourished and dehydrated.
- Explain how to assess for adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Describe practical tips for care workers to support an older person with their hydration & nutrition.
