Recognising and Responding to Abuse
Course Description:
According to Action on Elder Abuse (AEA), each year in the UK, over half a million older people experience some sort of abuse. Abuse or harm can come from family members, friends, professionals, and care staff.
Participating in this course will help you to develop a greater understanding of common types of abuse and to understand the important role the carer has in recognising and reporting the signs of abuse.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the different types of elder abuse
- How to recognise the signs of elder abuse
- Understand staff roles and responsibilities if abuse is suspected
Who is this course appropriate for:
This course is appropriate for all staff who work in social care.

Up to 8 hours can be earned completing this course.
