End of Life Care: Bereavement
Course Description:
Bereavement is a natural experience that everyone, at some stage of their life will encounter and supporting people who are experiencing bereavement is a very important aspect of care. This course explores the effects of bereavement related to end of life care and how care workers can support residents and relatives alike.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing this course, participants should be able to:
- Define loss, grief and bereavement
- Identify effects and impacts of bereavement
- Demonstrate the ability to engage empathetically and support the individual who is grieving
